Kerri Moccio

Hi!  Thanks for visiting my web site!  I am.....

Mrs. Moccio

Me, trying to be a runner!

This is me at Belle Isle with my favorite medal, trying to be a runner.
I've run ten 5K's so far and I am still alive to tell about it!

But here's the important stuff.....

It's hard to believe that this is my 24th year of teaching and my 22nd year at Bedford Elementary! As a Title I instructor, I work primarily with students who need extra help in letter and sound recognition, oral reading, comprehension, and writing. I also serve on the Board of Education for Milan Area Schools, so pretty much everything I do revolves around education!

I grew up in New York and moved here when my husband, Craig, became an engineer for Ford.  We have two daughters, Abbie and Sophie, and two Portuguese Water dogs (just like President Obama).  Their names are Libby and Luna.  I love to travel, scrapbook, and read, of course!  My Master's degree and certification are in Reading Education so my goal is to help our students be the best readers and writers they can be! I believe that all of my students have unique strengths and we use those every day to learn from one another.  Plus, we like to laugh and make learning FUN!

In our Title I program at Bedford, we have a wonderful paraprofessional, Mrs. Carr, who works with all grade levels. I am sure you will hear about her and all the extra help she offers our students and staff. We'd be lost without her!

(Parents, we know you've been ^ here ^.  We feel your pain.)

Our volunteers make the world brighter!

Bedford's PASS program is lucky to have the help of many volunteers who tutor our students in language arts every week. We wouldn't have a program without them. If you or a friend are interested in joining this fabulous group of people, call or stop in anytime. The more mentors we have, the more kids who can benefit!

You can find us in Room 1, email us at moccioke@dhsd7.net or

Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 3:30 pm.
